venue: our daughter's friend's birthday party.
we were about to leave and went to the hostess to say bye. The sweet and friendly lady came forward for a courtesy kiss and then suddenly stopped. Uttered something about cultural difference and blew me a kiss instead.
Back home my husband : "you had this totally weird and freaked out expression when that lady came to hug; not so nice of you"
me : "She came to hug you? I do not remember. And why would I freak out if she hugs you?"
him: "Not me, silly, She came to hug YOU and you freaked out"
me: "Oh.. possible.. Don't worry. I shall explain to her that I hail from a place where people get beaten up and taken to police custody for hugging/kissing. She would understand.. (and that she should get a room if she wants to hug me ;) )"
